The Newscast

Each day in the newsroom is different from the next! That's what makes this job so enticing. Here are a few of my favorite shows I have produced.
Late breaking news

This show had a lot of breaking news, that the newsroom had to write on the fly. I am especially proud of this show because all of it happened within the hour before the 10p.m. show began.  My reporters added strong information and it made for a very smooth, hard hitting show.

Highlighting news of the day

Even in the wee hours of the morning, it is important to put the latest news up first. This was the morning after the election and the results of the new president-elect broke in our show. This show was chock full of both state and national political news.

Working through a slow local news day

Even when the news of the town seemed slow, I was able to help our reporter search through social media sources like Facebook to find local concerns that were newsworthy. The slow local news day also gave an opportunity for me to see what was happening globally.Overall, this show taught me how to get inventive and fight to keep the show's compelling integrity.
